NYC Mayor Guarantees Comprehensive Health Care for All
2019-01-08
In other news, New York city will go even broker
[NBCNewYork] New York City will begin guaranteeing comprehensive health care to every single resident regardless of someone's ability to pay or immigration status, an unprecedented plan that will protect the more than half a million New Yorkers currently using the ER as a primary provider, Mayor de Blasio said Tuesday.

It's not health insurance, his spokesman clarified after the surprise announcement on MSNBC.

"This is the city paying for direct comprehensive care (not just ERs) for people who can't afford it, or can't get comprehensive Medicaid -- including 300,000 undocumented New Yorkers," spokesman Eric Phillips tweeted.

Politico reported the mayor said the cost would be $100 million. It's not clear when it will be implemented.
Knowing past government systems... that cost needs to be raised by 5 and it will be implemented when the current leaders need a distraction from their deeds
"This has never been done in the country in a comprehensive way," de Blasio said. "Health care isn't just a right in theory, it must be a right in practice. And we're doing that here in this city."

De Blasio said the plan will provide primary and specialty care, from pediatrics to OBGYN, geriatric and more, to the city's roughly 600,000 uninsured. He said the city already has the foundation for such a revolutionary plan -- a public health insurance option that helps get direct care to undocumented residents.
Notice how that bit about the undocumented is quietly slipped in, dear Reader.
That option will be expanded, the mayor said, and supported with the addition of a new program called NYC Care. Details on the program are expected to be revealed later Tuesday.

"We're already paying an exorbitant amount to pay for health care the wrong way," de Blasio said on MSNBC, referring to the cost of emergency room visits. "What we should be doing is helping them get the primary care."
Get ready to pay more then, New Yorkers. Between this and paying for Amazon, you guys will be all broke as fuck in a decade.

#8  I suspect it'll turn a profit. Why? Simple, the vast majority of their care options will be euthanasia so that their death taxes can take a hefty bit of your accumulated life savings and property. You don't think these people have ANY interest in actually helping you survive any longer?

#6   their inadequate treatment-ration That is the current case for the insured with massive deductibles. It took quite a bit of persuasion to get a relative to go to the ER for what turned out to be the worst case of superficial thrombophlebitis the sonographer had ever seen. His deductible is $5000 per annum.

#5  BP, there were two Militia Acts in 1792 during Congress' first meeting. The first defined who was in the militia, the second said that each member of the militia was to arm themselves with the same weapon that the small American army was armed with. Given that precedent, I could see that and 200 rounds of ammunition. Be like the Swiss. Store it at home.

#3  The second amendment says that being armed is a right of Americans...

Does that mean New York's government HAS to purchase a gun for anyone who asks?

#2  "Health care isn't just a right"

It's an entitlement, it cannot be a right.

This is basic stuff.

#1  Open a non-extortion funded Health care centre on the NYC border.

You'll have a bucket load of clients in not very long, fleeing their inadequate treatment-ration and queuing.
