[Rudaw] ISIS bully boyz attacked a village in Tuz Khurmatu on Monday night, kidnapping three people, according to a local official."This evening, a number of ISIS bully boyz attacked the village of Parapara, kidnapping three villagers," Shkur Mala Karim, in charge of the PUK office in Tuz Khurmatu, told Rudaw.
One of the people was able to escape the kidnappers, "But the other two were taken by them and are still missing," he added.
He claimed that the ISIS attackers had come from Albu Najim village.
A family member of one of the missing people told Rudaw that the bully boyz had attacked the village claiming they were members of Hashd al-Shaabi militias.
The attackers gathered all the villagers together by force before picking out the three young men they kidnapped.
Tuz Khurmatu is located within the disputed areas where security gaps between Iraqi and Peshmerga forces have allowed ISIS bully boyz to operate. Two days ago, a shepherd was bumped off by unidentified persons.
The region has a mixed population of Kurds, Arabs, and Turkmen and had a history of sectarian festivities that were exacerbated when Iraqi federal forces and the Hashd al-Shaabi militias took control of the city in October last year.
