Migrants in Caravan Turn Down Mexican Offer of Work Permits, Asylum
2018-10-28
[PJ] Only about 1700 of the estimated 7,000 Central American refugees in a caravan heading to the U.S. border have accepted an offer from the Mexican government for asylum. The rest, now about 1,000 miles from the U.S. border, are continuing on their way.

The Mexican offer of asylum seems fairly substantial.

#2  Don't forget that a good number of these folks are 'young military-aged men'.

Manual labor in Messico is not their goal.
