ISIS began their assault on Monday morning by attempting to overpower the troops of the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and National Defense Forces (NDF) along the road near the large hilltop of Tal Barakat.

Following a fierce battle that lasted for at least four hours, the Syrian Arab Army and National Defense Forces were able to fully repel the Islamic State attack, leaving many terrorist combatants dead in the process.

According to a military source in Sweida city, the Syrian Arab Army and National Defense Forces launched a swift counter-assault shortly after the failed Islamic State attack.

The source added that the Syrian Arab Army and National Defense Forces are now attempting to advance at two different axes in the al-Safa region.
