U.S. Doctors Are Performing Double Mastectomies On Healthy 13-Year-Old Girls |
2018-09-17 |
![]() Sometimes this dysphoria doesn’t appear until adolescence, and often little or no psychological evaluation is done to determine the underlying cause of the teenager’s desire to mutilate her body. But these doctors are willing to give her what she thinks she wants. And your federal tax money is paying for research to validate this gruesome treatment (see here and here). Reasonable people would be mystified, if not repelled, by the statements and actions of a leading researcher into transgender treatment. In a study funded by a $5.7 million grant from the National Institutes of Health (NIH), researchers including Dr. Johanna Olson of Children’s Hospital Los Angeles are supposedly evaluating use of puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones on dysphoric children. |

#7 Always (mildly) shocked at how late that went on (Handel's time?). Reminds me of the dude (pretty high-status, IIRC) who managed to get his tongue cut out for blasphemy in roughly the same timeframe. |

#5 It is my understanding that the castrati of that time did it to improve their career prospects by preserving the beautiful boy soprano singing voice at a time when those without salable skills went hungry. As the writer says, the current fad is strongly akin to anorexia, an anxiety disorder. One of my fosterlings suffered from anorexia, bulimia, cutting, and suicidal ideation as a teen. But with the help of her parents we got her through it, and a decade later she is now fine. |

#4 I'd say that one day most people would look back on this as something akin to the castrati of the middle ages, but heck, most sane people look at it this way now. |

#2 Castrations? Sure, start with the doctors. |

#1 Nature gets it wrong? Would the science then follow that somewhere near an equal number of castrations should be performed ? |
