| VIDEO: Nusra sniper torn into pieces by Syrian Army in northern Latakia [AlMasdar] (3:40 P.M.) – A notorious sniper was killed in northern countryside of Latakia by an ATGM fired by the Syrian Army amid renewing clashes. The sniper was moving to take his position atop a hill when he was spotted by an Army unit. The ATGM directly hit his barricade; instantly killing the jihadist. The Syrian forces has recently targeted positions for Nusra terror group in Kabaneh hilltops; killing and injuring scores. Earlier, troops from the SAA’s elite 4th Armored Division were deployed along the frontlines with Nusra group in northern latakia. The government forces aim at restoring Kabaneh hilltops which retains a special importance since they overlook the jihadi-held Jisr al-Shughur city; the next target for the Syrian Army. Jihadist rebels strike Latakia city from Idlib border [AlMasdar] (8:00 P.M.) – The jihadist rebels in the northeastern countryside of the Latakia Governorate unleashed a number of missiles towards the provincial capital tonight. According to a military source in Latakia city, the jihadist rebels fired several grad missiles from the town of Kabbani towards the provincial capital. The source added that some of the missiles landed inside the towns of Damaskhro and Qanjara, while the remaining hit the neighborhoods in Latakia city. This latest attack by the jihadist rebels comes just 48 hours after the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and the Russian Air Force halted their attack on the Idlib Governorate. |
