| China's Xi promotes ‘Belt and Road' as Africa growth tool |

| [Kansas City Star] BEIJING - Chinese President Xi Jinping on Monday promoted Beijing's initiative to build ports and other infrastructure to African leaders as a tool for "common prosperity" in a world facing challenges from trade protectionism. Speaking to businesspeople ahead of a conference with dozens of African leaders, Xi said the "Belt and Road" initiative will expand markets. He tried to mollify concern Beijing wants to build strategic influence, promising Chinese investment comes with "no political strings attached." "Unilateralism and protectionism are on the rise. Economic growth lacks robust drive," said Xi in a speech. "China-Africa cooperation under the BRI is a way to common prosperity that brings benefits to both our peoples." African and other Asian leaders have welcomed "Belt and Road" but some projects have prompted complaints about debt and other problems. The initiative involves hundreds of projects, most of them built by Chinese contractors and financed by loans from Chinese state-owned banks, across an arc of 65 countries from the South Pacific through Asia to Africa and the Middle East. |

| #3 The master plan. They are doing this everywhere including here. The Chinese loyalty to the homeland is required. Keeping the blood pure is required. I see that bond deteriorate over time and quickly. The Asians are very smart. The Asians work very hard. Now the Asians are dying very young. The Chinese women see this happening to their people. They back off but not so with the men that I have seen. The bond is weakened with each succeeding generation. Accelerated if the blood is not kept pure. Life is not a five year plan orchestrated by a government. |

| #2 Joke's on him: transport by water is 14 times cheaper than by road. Who owns the seas? Why, the US Navy, of course. The only reason China is in Africa is because all the good spots in the world were taken already. Africa is a basket case, they're unhelpable. Let them waste their yuan there, they'll come to regret it just like everyone else who tried Africa. |
