| Iraq receives first shipment of Russian BMP-3 infantry vehicles | |

The Iraqi army previously mentioned that the personnel were trained on operating the BMP-3 in Russia. The Russian vehicle will be used along with the T-90 tanks. There has been an agreement between Russia and Iraq over sending Russian Т-90С / СК tanks to the Iraqi army in 2017. Uralvagonzavod, the manufacturer of T-90 tanks said Iraq will 73 tanks, in accordance with the contract. Previously, news reports said Iraqi army received fighter jets and other items from Russia. Russia had previously pledged to maintain military assistance to Iraq in its war against Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allaharound with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not reallyMoslems.... . In 2016, It opened a military command center in Baghdad and provided Iraq with tons of anti-chemical weapons kits in 2015. However, a hangover is the wrath of grapes... Moscow has not partaken in the U.S.-led military alliance backing the Iraqi forces in their campaign against IS which has run since 2014. | |

| #4 That is NOT a BMP-3 at the website. Looks more like a modernized T-72. However, Russian equipment isn't a bad choice for 3rd world and arab nations. Little to maintain, rugged, and works well against non-western foes. Yeah, not even close. Also, it does reverse well, and when your army is being routed into the sea, it floats. |

| #3 But just think, it's more modern than a T-72 so it MUST be awesome! We all know how horribly scary russian military equipment is! Never mind that the T-72 was unable to penetrate the front armor of M1-A2's with dedicated anti-tank rounds from 500m, yet the A2's can punch right through the front of a T-72 from over 4000m. Honestly they aren't a bad choice for places like Iraq as was said. If it shares brake fluid commonality with the T-72, hopefully they remind the crews not to drink it. Just because it acts like booze doesn't mean it won't kill ya. |
