Rudy Giuliani: Impeaching Trump would mean 'people's revolt'
2018-08-24
[SkyNews] President's lawyer claimed there was "no reason" for impeachment and says Trump has been "vindicated" by Michael Cohen's account.

Donald Trump's lawyer has said "the American people would revolt" if the president was impeached.

In an interview with Sky News Rudy Giuliani claimed there was "no reason" for an impeachment and called Mr Trump's former lawyer Michael Cohen "a liar".

"You could only impeach [Trump] for political reasons and the American people would revolt against that," he said.

Cohen admitted on Tuesday to paying hush money to a porn actress and a model at the request of a "candidate" - revealed by his lawyer to be Donald Trump - in order to influence the 2016 US election campaign.

His lawyer says it is "absolutely clear that Donald Trump committed a felony" in the run-up to the election, and the developments have heightened speculation that the president could be impeached.

Mr Giuliani, however, said he believed Mr Trump has been "completely cleared" by Cohen's testimony, saying it was "inevitable" that he would not be impeached.

"You have this Cohen guy, he doesn't know anything about Russian collusion, he doesn't know anything about obstruction, he's a massive liar," he said.

Mr Giuliani, former mayor of New York, spoke to Sky News during a golfing trip at Balmedie on the Aberdeenshire coast, a course owned by Mr Trump.

#17  They do that, its the start of our second civil war.

#16  The Left, antifa et al, won't admit it, but they depend upon the civility and law abiding of the deplorables to have their obnoxious activities continue.

However, once the tipping point is reached with the deplorables, like removing the sitting president, then all bets are off and they will be squashed like bugs, and it will not be pretty, but the issues will be decided.

#15  The left/right divide reminds me of the Palestine/Israel issue. One side has the power to liquidate the other but doesn't despite being provoked again and again and again.

In both situations there will be a provocation too far at some point and it will not be pretty.

#14  Look at this way, who are you going to bet on?

People who dwell on trigger warnings, safe places, micro aggressions, identity politics and are afraid of fire arms?

OR

A bunch of pissed off veterans, hunters, cowboys, cowgirls, farmers, and oil field workers with LOTS of weapons or knives, or heck...in the hands of some of us a plastic fork, toothbrush or garden trowel is a dangerous weapon.

I seriously doubt if the rank and file policeman, highway patrolman, national guardsman, or rent a cop would go out and open fire on their neighbors.

I even more seriously doubt if the average ground pounder, jarhead, or sailor would either.

A people's revolt would be over in a big hurry and it would get pretty ugly for those on the left side of the aisle.

I always wonder what Antifa would do if we hit back?

#12  I took 100% of my 40xx funds out of stocks and bonds. In 2007. Fat difference that made.

#11  Half this nation voted for him, it wont be the 3% that rise up. Just remember that other half has severe mental / moral / emotional deficiencies which they continue to demonstrate. I put nothing past them.

#10  Half this nation voted for him, it wont be the 3% that rise up. It will be ugly. And then the left will have to deal with a far right religious president. Imagine the changes he will implement... The left needs him in office as bad as we needed Obama to stay and not let his second take control.

#7  No need for violence. Everybody get on the freeway and drive sllllloooooowwwww. Then transfer 10 percent of your 401k from stocks and bonds to money market. Watch the fun when Wall Street panics and people can't get to work on time. Do these things the minute they bring an impeachment resolution to the House floor and see how far it gets.

#6  I suspect Trump's people already have Jeffy on a conspiracy beef with Mueller and Comey and he'll have to tender his resignation in return for not finding out what it's like to be a former USAG in Leavenworth.

#5  My sense of it is that the Socialists compete with one another to say increasingly outrageous things but frequently back down...after all 'words don't mean anything'.

On the other hand, I think the people on the right have a limit and if pushed beyond they will react definitively inasmuch as the Left will have proven there is only one way to deal with Socialism.

#4  Impeaching Clinton made him even stronger and Gore wasn't as scary to the right as Pence is to the left.

That comment made my day. As a conservative, I forget how the Mo's and liberals fear evangelists.

#2  Probably not the kind of thing that should be, or even needs to be, said publicly.

Impeaching Clinton made him even stronger and Gore wasn't as scary to the right as Pence is to the left.
