(IS; formerly ISIS/ISIS) in SDF controlled areas, confirmed the SDF spokesperson Kinu Gabriel during an interview filmed in Derek and aired on Sunday. "The works and programs we perform with the international coalition are not related to the military operations that will soon end with the final IS stronghold in the basin of the Euphrates River," he said. Gabriel also noted: "We will continue implementing these programs, whether with local security forces, local councils, or even with the Syrian democratic sources, so as to continue the support and training programs to develop the capabilities of the forces to defend these areas and permanently prevent the appearance of IS elements again." |
