Iranian-Backed ‘Sleeper Cell’ Militants Hibernating in U.S., Positioned for Attack
2018-08-19
How exciting.
[FREEBEACON] Iranian-backed turbans are operating across the United States mostly unfettered, raising concerns in Congress and among regional experts that these "sleeper cell" agents are poised to launch a large-scale attack on the American homeland, according to testimony before politicians.

Iranian agents tied to the terror group Hezbollah have already been discovered in the United States plotting attacks, giving rise to fears that Tehran could order a strike inside America should tensions between the Trump administration and Islamic Theocratic Republic reach a boiling point.

Intelligence officials and former White House officials confirmed to Congress on Tuesday that such an attack is not only plausible, but relatively easy for Iran to carry out at a time when the Trump administration is considering abandoning the landmark nuclear deal and reapplying sanctions on Tehran.

There is mounting evidence that Iran poses "a direct threat to the homeland," according to Rep. Peter King
...U.S. Representative for New York's 3rd (central Long Island) congressional district, serving since 1993. He is of the Publican persuasion and is known for his active support for the IRA Irish republican movement...
(R., N.Y.), a member of the House Homeland Security Committee and chair of its subcommittee on counterterrorism and intelligence.

A chief concern is "Iranian support for Hezbollah, which is active in the Middle East, Latin America, and here in the U.S., where Hezbollah operatives have been nabbed

for activities conducted in our own country," King said, referring the recent arrest of two individuals plotting terror attacks in New York City and Michigan.

"Both individuals received significant weapons training from Hezbollah," King said. "It is clear Hezbollah has the will and capability."

After more than a decade of receiving intelligence briefs, King said he has concluded that "Hezbollah is probably the most experienced and professional terrorist organization in the world," even more so than ISIS and Al Qaeda.

#10  It's almost as if we didn't fuck with other countries, they wouldn't fuck with us.

They've been coming here since 1980, Herb, when we weren't doing anything to Iran except counting the days they were holding out people captive. Discarded IRGC uniforms and Korans have reportedly been picked up along our southern border in the years following 9/11, when we were concentrating on Afghanistan and Iraq -- Iran's enemy for decades. Iran's "reaction" long predated our action -- so how are we at fault?

#9  Wow, I bet they are all available for group photos at some gathering place. If only we were cunning enough to figure out where and conduct surveillance of these places.

#8  It sure would be nice if we could vet immigrants from countries that support terrorism.

#7  Another Journalist breathlessly discussing the long obvious...
Starting in the 1960's belligerent 3rd World Regimes started investing in "plausibly denial" Terrorist Organizations. Partly so that they would bother someone (anyone!) else, but mostly because they were seen as The Poor Man's WMD.
Part of the reason we flattened Afghanistan was to discourage repeats of this idea... The Russians, from time to time, also responded to such provaxations from time to time.

#4  We don't need sleeper cells. We have Boomers and someone who might actually use them. Keep that in mind.

#3  So they argue we should stay with Zero's nuke deal and trust the Iranians cuz otherwise their terrorist sleep cells in the US would attack us?

#2  More threats? Gosh, where have we seen this before? And the threats came to be because of the warlike actions of the US government abroad? You don't say!

It's almost as if we didn't fuck with other countries, they wouldn't fuck with us. Ya think?
