| #1 I have no sympathy for Saudi Arabia. They're currently the lesser evil within the Islamic World, big emphasis on evil. However compare this step to the West's weak kneed and submissive response to Muslim nations' diplomatic insolence during the Danish cartoon crisis, barely 4 years after 9/11. If Denmark and other Western nations had responded by png-ing all ambassadors from these countries a red line would have been drawn in the sand by peaceful means. The West is strong but politically masochistic. The Islamic world is weak but politically dominant and sadistic. That's a dangerous mix. |
