| Germany hands Iraq USD4 mn equipment for reconstruction: ambassador | |

In a presser in Baghdad, attended by Iraqi cabinet’s secretary-general, ambassador Cyril Nan was quoted by Alghad Press saying that Germany had handed Iraq heavy-duty equipment worth USD4.7 million to "support recovery efforts at the liberated areas for the local government’s of Anbar, DIyala and Salahuddin. Iraq’s war against Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allaharound with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not reallyMoslems.... turbans since 2014 has displaced millions and rendered a large portion of the country’s infrastructure badly damaged. The country had appealed to international donors to rehabilitate devastated infrastructure and relocate displaced civilians. Germany has been a member of the U.S.-led coalition backing the Iraqi troops in their operations against IS and has offered financial support for rehabilitation efforts. | |

| #2 Germany has been generous with donations, whether of funding, equipment, or training. However, spare parts and maintenance for their own military seem to be wanting. Then again, someone else is paying for that security responsibility. |
