| #5 How much do we give them through how many agencies? Congress is trying to redefine Palestinian refugees to include only those who actually fled, not their friends, relations, and several generations of descendants. The State Department worked up those numbers a few years ago, but has steadfastly refused to divulge them ever since. And I seem to recall that Ambassador Nicki Haley is working to get the Palestinian refugees reassigned from the dedicated United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) to the UN High Commision for Refugees (UNHCR), which has responsibility for all the other refugees in the world. |
