[Evening Standard] A former navy SEAL has died during a major operation to rescue a young football team and their coach trapped in cave in Thailand, officials said. The man has been working as a volunteer as part of a mission to free the 12 boys and 25-year-old coach from flooded Tham Luang Nang Non. SEAL commander Arpakorn Yookongkaew told a news conference Friday morning that he had died during an overnight mission to place oxygen tanks in the cave where the group have been trapped since June 23. |

#3 38 years old. 2.5 mile route. Buddy couldn't revive him after falling unconscious. Expert diver, triathlete. Aneurysm? Biggest killer of firefighters is heart attack; overexertion. |

#2 More than likely someone miscalculated the 1/3 rule and or buddy system. But we lost a spelunk-diver in Mexico to a diabetic coma. His body was found on a sandbank deep into a cave river. Why? He and his assigned partner separated. |
