[ALMASDARNEWS] The jihadist rebels have agreed to surrender the entire al-Lajat region of northeast Dara’a to the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) after suffering several setbacks this past weekend. According to a military source in the government stronghold of Izra’a, the jihadist rebels of Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham ![]() ... the more palatable version of the Syrian insurgency, heavily influenced by the Moslem Brüderbund... (FSA) agreed to handover the 20+ towns they controlled in the al-Lajat region to the Syrian Army. The source added that many rebels will remain in al-Lajat to settle their cases with the Syrian government, while the remaining will move to southeast Dara’a. For the jihadist rebels, this is a major blow to their morale, as they controlled the al-Lajat region for most of the war. Furthermore, the loss of northeast Dara’a only adds to the pressure that is already on their forces inside the entire province. H With the al-Lajat region soon to be under their control, the Syrian Army will turn their attention to the Nassib Crossing and historical city of Busra al-Sham in southeast Dara’a. |
