2018-05-17
[Khaama (Afghanistan)] The Afghan Military in the North says the Farah city has been fully cleared of the Talibs but clearance operations are still being conducted to ensure the remaining turbans are eliminated.

The 207th Zafar Corps of the Afghan Military in the West said the holy warriors have been suppressed both inside the city as well as in the outskirts of the capital of Farah.

The source further added that the civilians have not been harmed during the operations and no government infrastructure or compound has received any damages.

A front man for the Chief Executive Javid Faisal also confirmed that the holy warriors have been fully driven out of the city.

Provincial governor Abdul Basir Salangi confirmed that the holy warriors were driven out of the city in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

According to Salangi, at least twenty people including several security personnel have bit the dust during the festivities with the Taliban

turbans.

He said the Talibs have also suffered casualties during the festivities but did not elaborate further regarding the exact number.

The governor of Farah also added that the Talibs from the other provinces including Helmand
...an Afghan province populated mostly by Pashtuns, adjacent to Injun country in Pak Balochistan...
had also participated in the attack on Farah city.
