The young Turks rejecting Islam |

[BBC] "This is the only thing left that connects me to Islam," says Merve, showing me her bright red headscarf. Merve teaches religion to elementary school children in Turkey. She used to be a radical believer of Islam. "Until recently, I would not even shake hands with men," she tells me in an Istanbul cafe. "But now I do not know whether there is a God or not, and I really do not care." |

#3 There are two countervailing forces at work here. One is the tendency for kids to rebel against whatever their parents believe. The other is the nature of Islam to kill heretics and unbelievers. The later property makes Islam very resistant to change. |

#2 notice that all the doubters of Islam have their names changed to protect their lives even many Islamic clerics will admit that only the fear of being killed for doubting is what keeps Islam alive |

#1 Iran has the same problem. The corruption and oppression of the religious rulers turns people away, especially the idealistic young. It’s good to see that the deliberate brainwashing is not taking, at least with some. |
