| Civilians suffer heavy casualties in Taliban mortar attack in Nangarhar |

| [Khaama Press] At least 21 non-combatants were killed or maimed in mortar attack by the Talibs in eastern Nangahrar province of Afghanistan. According to the local officials, the incident took place on Tuesday afternoon at around 5 am local time in Bati Kot district. The provincial government media office in a statement said a mortar round fired by the Talibs landed in Hafiz Godai area, leaving at least two civilians dead. The statement further added that the attack also left at least 19 civilians who have been shifted to the hospital in Jalalabad city. According to the provincial government, the health condition of those maimed in the attack have been reported as stable and are currently being treated in the hospital. The anti-government armed Lion of Islam groups including Talibs have not commented regarding the report so far. |
