Hekmatyar supports the launch of e-NIC distribution by the government
2018-05-05
[Khaama (Afghanistan)] The leader of Hezb-e-Islami Gulbuddin Hekmatyar
... who used to be known in intelligence circles as The Most Evil Man in the World but who now seems merely run-of-the-mill evil...
declared his support to the launch of the electronic National Identity Cards (e-NIC) by the Afghan government.

Speaking during a presser in northern Parwan province, Hekmatyar said the distribution process of the electronic National Identity Cards must continue.

He said he and his supports the government’s decision to launch the distribution process of the electronic National Identity Cards as he called on the government leaders to end the rift regarding the issue.

This comes as the Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah
... the former foreign minister of the Northern Alliance government, advisor to Masood, and candidate for president against Karzai. Dr. Abdullah was born in Kabul and is half Tadjik and half Pashtun...
had earlier emphasized that national processes in Afghanistan including election or the process of distribution of Electronic Tazkiras need nation level consultations.

He also added that better security remains a top priority for the Afghans, not issues that can challenge our collective effort for peace and stability.

According to the Chief Executive, the issue of Electronic Tazkiras was discussed across the country, emphasizing that people had legitimate concerns but, no attention was paid to these legitimate concerns which is an unpleasant discussion and could lead country to crisis.

"I would once again declare that all the national processes which are not being consulted within the National Unity Government and with the people of Afghanistan are not legitimate and I will not be part of those processes," he added.
