University of Texas to Treat Masculinity as a 'Mental Health' Issue
2018-04-29
[PJMedia] The Counseling and Mental Health Center at the University of Texas at Austin recently launched a new program to help male students "take control over their gender identity and develop a healthy sense of masculinity."

Treating masculinity as if it were a mental health crisis, "MasculinUT" is organized by the school’s counseling staff and most recently organized a poster series encouraging students to develop a "healthy model of masculinity."

The program is predicated on a critique of so-called "restrictive masculinity." Men, the program argues, suffer when they are told to "act like a man" or when they are encouraged to fulfill traditional gender roles, such as being "successful" or "the breadwinner."
They just don't want any men competing in white collar market.

#12  UT Austin is taking their steer mascot too literally.

Snark of the day contender.

(FYI - a 'steer' has had it's balls removed.)

#10  I'd say that is too far removed from the original intent of the charter. No further public funding until a program-by-program audit confirming core educational principles and cancelling non-core programs and initiatives.

#9  Taxpayer funded institution. right?

Republican Governor, Republican majority in the State Senate and House.

Let's see if GOPers actually do something.

#8  Act like a man typically means act like an adult. Stop crying and bitching constantly. Of course the university system that is turning men into women and or babies has issues.

#6  Methinks the councilor staff was warned beforehand not to jeopardize the cash cows (i.e football program and such). Otherwise, go full retard!

Why didn't you push that on 9/11? NYFD and NYPD could have avoided all those casualties. The oxygen must be really thin at UTA.
