Panmunjom Declaration on Peace, Prosperity and Reunification of Korean Peninsula
2018-04-29
[KCNAWATCH.CO] The respected Supreme Leader Kim Pudge Jong-un
...the overweight, pouty-looking hereditary potentate of North Korea. Pudge appears to believe in his own divinity, but has yet to produce any loaves and fishes, so his subjects remain malnourished...
and President Moon Jae In signed the "Panmunjom Declaration on Peace, Prosperity and Reunification of Korean Peninsula" on April 27, the full text of which reads:

Chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea Kim Jong-un and President of the Republic of Korea Moon Jae In had the north-south summit talks at the "House of Peace" in Panmunjom on April 27, 2018 at the significant time when a historic turn is being made in the Korean peninsula, reflecting the unanimous desire of all the Koreans for peace, prosperity and reunification.

#4  MacArthur was never as good as his press agents made him out to be, and by firing him Truman did us a favor. YMMV, of course.

Agreed. I've always been a little cautious around men who smoked pipes.

#3  Don't trust. Verify

#2  ...My answer to this would be the words of Ronaldus Magnus: "Trust, but verify."

Beosoeker, FWIW it's hard to avoid the conclusion that Democrat or Republican, whoever was President would have been fully justified in canning MacArthur. (Had Ike been President then - and he didn't like MacArthur at all - he probably would have 86'd him even sooner.)

Mac's intended actions weren't meant so much to win the war as punish the Chinese for having the colossal nerve to embarrass him, and he was starting to imply that he would do what he felt was tactically necessary, instead of following orders from Washington. MacArthur was never as good as his press agents made him out to be, and by firing him Truman did us a favor. YMMV, of course.

#1  I hope no one gets too excited about all of this. It could all change very quickly. Gen. Douglas MacArthur also thought he had achieved a "united Korea."

BTW, MacArthur was fired by a democrat.
