Afghan government warns Pakistan after Kunar airstrike
2018-04-06
[KhaamaPress] The Afghan government reacted to the Pakistani military’s airstrike in Kunar province and warned Islamabad that the continuation of such provocative acts would seriously harm the relations of the countries.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan in a statement said the Pakistani fighter planes dropped four bombs in Shahidan Saro area of Dangam district late on Wednesday.

The statement further added that the airstrike has caused massive property damages to the residents of the area.

The Foreign Ministry of Afghanistan called the attack a serious violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Afghanistan.

The statement by the Foreign Ministry further added that the Islamic Republic Afghanistan warns that the continuation of such steps, which are against the international principles and principles of good neighbors, will have dire consequences on bilateral relations of the two countries.

The local officials in eastern Kunar province confirmed earlier today that the Pakistani planes have conducted an airstrike along the Durand Line in Dangam district of Kunar.

Deputy provincial governor Gul Mohammad Bidar confirmed the airstrike and said a high peak was targeted in the airstrike but no one was hurt in the raid.

Bidar further added that the latest violation by the Pakistani air forces has taken place amid ongoing artillery shelling.

He also added that the provincial government has prepared a report regarding the artillery shelling and airstrike and has been sent to the central government.
