Militants suffer heavy casualties in Farah operations |

[Khaama (Afghanistan)] The anti-government armed Lions of Islam have suffered heavy casualties during the ongoing operations in western Farah province, the defense officials said Tuesday. The officials further added that a total of twenty six Lions of Islam were killed during the air and ground operations in the past 24 hours. Deputy front man for the Ministry of Defense Gen. Mohammad Radmanish told news hounds that twelve of the Lions of Islam were killed in the center of Farah, Bala Bolok, and Khak Safid districts of the province. Gen. Radmanish further added that 6 Lions of Islam were killed in Tarinkot city of Uruzgan, 4 Lions of Islam in Greshk district of Helmand ...an Afghan province populated mostly by Pashtuns, adjacent to Injun country in Pak Balochistan... , and 3 Lions of Islam in Pashtun Kot district of Faryab. He said at least twenty Lions of Islam were also maimed and nineteen others including seventeen suspects were rounded up during the operations. According to Gen. Radmanish, the Afghan forces also discovered and defused 38 improvised bombs during the operations. He said at least eleven offensive operations are underway in ten provinces of the country and the Afghan Special Forces have conducted 69 raids in some provinces while 6 ![]() |
