Provincial governor’s front man Attaullah Khogyani said a 8-month-old child was also recovered from the custody of the kidnappers.
Khogyani further added that the child, Hamza, was kidnapped from a clinic belonging to Dr. Marwa in the 4th police district of Jalalabad city nearly a week ago.
He said the kidnappers of the child were arrested during an operation of the Afghan intelligence operatives in Ikmalati Base area of the city.
The kidnapped child was also recovered during the operation and was handed over to his family, Khogyani added.
This comes as criminal related incidents including kidnappings are on the rise in the key cities of the country despite efforts are underway to ensure law and order by the security forces.
This is not the first time a woman has been arrested in connection to a kidnapping case as several women have been arrested in connection to the similar incidents as well as other charges including murder, drugs smuggling, and robbery.
