Qatar will soon begin direct flights to Hatay, Turkey directly across from Afrin Canton, Syria. (Bringing in jihadi's to fight the YPG? Evacuating wounded to hospitals outside of Turkey to hide the casualties?)

#10  its sad that it came to this. The initial problem could have been fixed if Bush had actually imposed consequences on Turkey for its refusal to act as a NATO partner and allow the northern axis access via Turkish ports in OIF-I. Bush really blew it. And Obama made it worse by his basically acting as Iranian ally in the region due to the 5th column treason inside the Oval Office at the highest level, Valerie Jarrett. If there was any justice she should have at least been indicted by now.

What makes it worse is that the best natural allies we have in the region are the Kurds. And we still have not given them the support and heavy weapons, including artillery, that they need. When will we act honorably and quit doing to the Kurds in SW Asia what our nation did to the Montagnard in Vietnam?

Its disgusting. There are brave men and women over there. And many US and other westerners helping them and trying to make a difference, in spite of our State Department and 3 letter agencies. I will go to my deathbed with no regrets for what we attempted to do, and ashamed of my government for failing to do the right things.

#9  The only serious site covering the WOT.
Thanks Fred.

Gonna stand up and testify.
Was having a conversation with one of my more informed and interested friends shortly after Libya caught some tomahawks and Obama was learning to samba. I said something to the effect, "And can you believe what MILF is doing in the Philippines?"

He paused, as if waiting for the punch line. Eh?

Got him up to speed as best I could concerning the Philippines and Thailand. Hey, if you are still lurking, whassup man!

#6  Day 30 of Erdogan's "3 day Invasion" of Afrin, Syria
Snark of the Day?
After the Great Purge™ was there anyone to tell the Grand Pasha that this might not be an act of "Genius! Sheer Genius!" (Wile E. Coyote version)? The only practical effect is to force the Kurds to become closer to Assad.

As these YPJ snipers move out to the front lines, their commander announces that there will be good news soon. This was posted 2 days ago and it could be in reference to the Syrian Regime moving in to counter Turkey today.

#2  Erdogan has jailed at last count 789 people in Turkey who opposed the Afrin invasion.

The political opposition has been adamant that Erdogan gets the cooperation of Pencil Neck before the invasion, but he chose not to for expansionist reasons, not for anti-terrorist reasons.

Such a wonderful headline. There are consequences for purging all suspected of being politically unreliable because they’re good at their jobs.
