[ALMASDARNEWS] The U.S. is considering the possibility of sanctioning ...the decaying remnant of the Ottoman Empire.... over their ongoing disputes in Syria, Heather Nauert, the U.S. State Department Spokesperson, stated on Friday. "Yeah, we certainly do have issues in dispute. As you know, the Secretary is on the ground there, so I’m not going to detail too much about what we may or may not do," the Spokesperson began. "But sanctions are always on the table with regard to different nations and areas that we may have difficulties with, but you also know we don’t preview sanctions," Naeurt added. Turkey and the U.S. have been at odds for months over the latter’s decision to aid the Kurdish-led forces in northern Syria. This dispute has resulted in Turkey threatening to invade the the city of Menbeij, which is located in northeast Aleppo. |
