Dozens of members of the close-knit community were holding a demonstration at the entrance to Kiryat Arba when several youths attempted to block traffic on the main road passing the settlement, according to police.
Officers clashed with the protesters as they tried to clear them from the road. One was detained for disobeying police orders and another for attacking an officer, police said. Both were released after questioning.

Honenu, a right-wing legal aid organization defending the suspects, said in a statement that police has used "heavy violence" against he protesters.
