| 4 insurgents die in Kandahar |

| At least four insurgents were killed in an Afghan security forces operation in southern Kandahar province on Monday, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) said in a statement on Tuesday. In addition, two other insurgents were wounded. The operation was launched in Maiwand district of the province to clear the area of insurgents. The security forces also demolished a stronghold belonging to the enemies, read the statement. “The security forces also destroyed explosive materials used for making mines,” it said. No further details were provided and the Taliban has not commented on the operation. |
