| Ongoing Clash In Balkh Leaves Two Dead |

| [Tolo News] Heavy fighting ... as opposed to the more usual name-calling or slapsy... is ongoing in Chamtal district in Balkh province, officials said, adding that two people have been killed and 12 others maimed in the clash. Deputy head of Balkh provincial council, Sayed Abdullah Masroor, said that six of his bodyguards were maimed when a rocket shelled by the Taliban ...the Pashtun equivalent of men... landed near their house in Taraki village in Chamtal district at around 9pm local time on Saturday. According to Masroor, six public uprising forces were also maimed in the fight between security forces and the Taliban in the district. Two public uprising forces were killed in the clash, he told TOLOnews. Balkh hospital officials confirmed that one dead and four maimed have been taken to the facility so far. Balkh police department front man, Shirjan Durani, said the fight was started on Saturday morning and that Taliban has suffered heavy losses. Talking to TOLOnews, he said the clash is still ongoing in the area. Meanwhile, ...back at the revival hall, the congregants were being herded into the paddy wagon... the 707 Pamir Police Headquarters said in a statement that four Taliban fighters, including their designated district governor for Shortepa district in Jawzjan province, Abdul Rahim also known as Allah Murad, was killed in a military operation by security forces. According to the statement, more than 10 Talibs including their designated district governor for Magnjak district of Jawzjan, Mullah Qadir, were maimed in the fighting. The statement said Taliban has been pushed back from the area after they attacked on a security outpost in Magnjak district in northern Jawzjan province. |
