Law or Mob Rule--Reflections on the Cultural Was Unfolding
2017-08-15
by JohnQC

I woke up this morning and look at the news over coffee. The first story that caught my attention was that of the mobsters in Durham tearing down a statue of a confederate soldier. It put me in a mind akin to when the Taliban blew up the Buddhist statues in Afghanistan about the time of our involvement in the Taliban/AQ war after 911. These were the ancient 1700-year old Buddhist Statues of Bamiyan. After failing to destroy the 1,700-year-old sandstone statues of Buddha with anti-aircraft and tank fire, the Taliban brought a lorryload of dynamite from Kabul to complete the job. The statues were "offensive" to the Taliban much like the statues of confederate soldiers and confederate leaders are offensive to the left today. Suppose, extremists decided to blow up streets, university buildings, or statues that were erected or dedicated to honor people on the left whom we might disagree with but we honor none-the-less. We are not headed in a good direction and the Philistinism behavior that attempts to erase and destroy a part of our history needs to be stopped.

Long ago on this site, I chose the nym JohnQC, the abbreviated version of John Q. Citizen, an internet name to represent just a regular guy like Joe the Plumber or John Doe. I am not an "ist" or follow some "ism." I am just an aging American approaching my 8th decade and saddened by what I see. I am not a National Socialist or a fascist or a skinhead (albeit a little bereft of hair). I don't think of myself as being particularly left or right. Like many college students, I was a bit left-leaning but believed in the miracle which is the U.S. Over many years, I have evolved into a Constitutional conservative as many people do after becoming a "seasoned citizen." You may have experienced similar transitions over time for some of the same reasons discussed below.

The Constitution as well as the Declaration of Independence were brilliant documents. These are documents which represent the basic agreement by which we live in America. The Constitution is the basis of our law. The document even provides the mechanism for changing or amending it if we choose to do so. If we do not follow this basic agreement, we become lawless and head towards anarchy, statism and the tyranny of the mob that follows from casting aside the basic laws of our country. We see signs of this tyranny in our streets today.

We are at that place in our history where we are in danger of anarchy with the blessings of too many elected officials. In 2008 after his election, Barack Obama spoke about the "fundamental transformation of the nation." We knew little about what he meant at the time. We are still experiencing that "fundamental transformation" and it is not good. Many of us who did not vote for Obama, took the attitude of let's wait and see how he does. Perhaps, his election will get the country over a few rough bumps from an at-times rocky past history. That did not happen and it seems his election only exacerbated problems and made things worse. Barack Obama seemed to pick at the healed scabs of our history. The country moved towards the radical left and increasing tyranny--a tyranny like we have not seen before. We are witnessing Obama's legacy today. It is a legacy of "community organizing" replacing the rule of law. It is a legacy where mob rule and anarchy have replaced law. Moreover, I doubt that those in the street ever question who funds their efforts or what those funders represent. These mobs are not just spontaneous flash mobs. They are well-organized and well-funded efforts by the extreme left to replace our Republic. With what? Communism? Anarchy? These movements are replete with failures and the large-scale slaughter slaughter of citizens. There is a need to look at these puppeteers who pull the strings and think they have a better answer to government than our Democratic Republic form. We have fought off external threats of Communism and fascism over time and survived.

Now we are in the gravest of danger from internal threats. We witness the streets being taken over by mobs. We witness their destruction of the property of others. We witness their violence against others who speak out or disagree with them. We see the attempts at the destruction of religion, property rights, law, and now the destruction and erasure of history. It is like a cancer in gnawing away at the fabric of our country.

The Antifascists are really fascists with a different name, communists. Fascists or communists, they are statists with tyranny in mind. With some, it is not that complicated, they are just angry, unhappy and some with serious mental issues who want to see everything torn down. They try to legitimize what they do by glomming on to some movement that thinly cloaks sedition and treasonous behavior.

The corporate media has done us a great disservice by choosing a side. They, like the Deep State, tend to be left-wing or what is today called a Democrat. The corporate media has, in a sense, abdicated its necessary role in a free state; that of a free press. How do they do a disservice to citizens? They publish propaganda and disinformation. They fail to properly vet our candidates who are up for election or re-lection. They fail us by reporting news in a biased manner. These things taken together, make it difficult for hard-working people to obtain the information which they need to make informed decisions--to participate in government in a meaningful way. Instead, the want to be the arbiters of our elections.

The parallels with National Socialist Germany in its ascendancy (or more properly descendancy) are frightening. Similarly, with the Communist takeovers of other countries. If we continue on this path, dire things are likely to come which seems to be the goal of those spreading chaos.

#4  Fine statement, thank you!

POTUS is addressing Americans' economic slavery. Their political subversion not so much. JohnQC does that here.

More is needed on this subject: annihilating political subversion of America and Americans.

#2  I fear that so many feel so helpless. What are regular citizens to in fighting the commercial behemoths who seek to chain our thinking and silence our speech. The feeling of helplessness is worsened because so many of those in public office seem to thrown in their lot with the orcs. It leaves the individual with nothing to do but think of sabotage. A little wrench thrown into the works of these bastards, every day, sometimes several times a day might slow them down if the actions are taken by millions. People need to start thinking how to make these bad guy's days worse in every way. Make them pay.

#1  Bravo!

The role the media plays is the scariest part. Everybody is expected to say certain things when an event like this occurs. Anybody who sees a more complex picture is labeled a NAZI. Just because I see Antifa and BLM for what they are doesn't mean I'm a NAZI. The whole story never gets presented. Really, really scary.
