Pro-militant Islamic scholar blames Al-Qaeda for Idlib infighting
2017-07-28
[ALMASDARNEWS] Syrian-born pro-Islamist religious scholar, Abdul Razzaq al-Mahdi, has laid "the buck of the responsibility" for the ongoing inter-rebel infighting in Idlib Governorate on the al-Qaeda-linked Ha’yat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) jihadist group.

In a recent interview with Bilal Abdul Kareem’s On the Ground News media outlet, Abdul Razzaq al-Mahdi expressed disappointment with HTS in its behavior to other bully boy groups in Idlib. He pointed-out a hypocrisy in what the jihadist group’s publicly stated intentions are and the means they use to achieve them.

According to the religious scholar "they [HTS] justify their stance and say they want a united front ... [however] they took this way called taghalab (to overcome with force)."

Abdul Razzaq al-Mahdi went on to add that "they [HTS] say there are instructions not to shed blood, but actually there is [bloodshed], many people get killed."

Abdul Razzaq al-Mahdi is a well-respected scholar among the anti-government following inside and outside of Syria. He has formally associated himself with both Islamist and jihadist bully boy groups operating in the country such as Ahrar al-Sham
...a Syria jihadi group made up of Islamists and salafists, not that there's that much difference, formed into a brigade. They make up the main element of the Islamic Front but they don't profess adoration of al-Qaeda and they've been fighting (mainly for survival) against the Islamic State. Their leadership was wiped out at a single blow by a suicide kaboom at a crowded basement meeting in September, 2014...
, the Turkistan Islamic Party in Syria (TIP) and even HTS.
