| #2 As the research shows, the tradition of close cousin marriage leads to a much higher rate of mental as well as physical disabilities in the population. And those with mental problems intrepret the thoughts that appear in their brains the way their culture teaches. In the old days we locked such people up before they committed crimes; nowadays we say they have a right to their delusions if they don't want to be medicated, unless they are in the process of harming themselves or others. |
