[Libya Observer] Libya’s top religious holy man Sheikh al-Sadiq al-Ghariani![]() has called for an inclusive reconciliation and stoppage of bloodshed and fighting in the conflict-hit country, as Libyans, like many Moslem countries, celebrate Eid al-Fitr on Sunday. In a televised address on Tanasuh TV to announce the end of Ramadan and start of Eid al-Fitr, he said the nation does not need more fighting or differences, urging the Libyans to rally behind a newly-proposed national initiative to resolve the political crisis. "Despite our repeated calls for reconciliation, some parties are still accusing us of inciting bloodshed," he said. He criticized "some countries" for fueling the conflict in Libya, saying their support to one of the conflicting parties over another is a clear example that they cannot reconcile between the Libyans. The Mufti is an advocate for a Libyan-Libyan political solution to the conflict. |
