British Airways could face £100m compensation bill over IT meltdown | |

![]() Selected text from article: British Airways could face a bill of at least £100m in compensation, additional customer care and lost business resulting from an IT meltdown that affected more than 1,000 flights over the weekend. The glitch is believed to have been caused by a power supply issue and there is no evidence of a cyber-attack, the airline said. Seriously, no redundancy build in to the system?

#1 IIRC, Delta had a similar problem not too long ago. It's really inexcusable for an airline to operate unprotected that way but the loss of 100 million pounds might smarten 'em up a bit. |
