[Daily Mail, Where America Gets Its News] A man who was tossed in the calabooseYou have the right to remain silent... by armed police outside Buckingham Palace the day after the UK increased its terror alert has been charged with possession of an offensive weapon. At least eight officers surrounded Jaheim Meade in the gardens next to St James's Park this morning ahead of the Queen's planned attendance at an event at St Paul's Cathedral. He was charged this afternoon with possession of an offensive weapon. A Met Police front man said: 'A man who was arrested in The Mall has been charged. Jahiem Meade, 22, of Hackney, was charged tonight with possession of an offensive weapon. He will appear in jug at a magistrates' court on Thursday.' The Queen and Prince Philip are said to have passed by in a car just 30 seconds before the incident. They were attending a service to mark the centenary of the Order of the British Empire. |

#5 I'm sure if he'd had a monkey wrench and a pipe snake, he'd of been shot 86 times in a hail of gunfire....then bayonetted until they are sure he's dead. Plumbers....hands of the devil. |

#4 Probably half of them were horrified by the way police manhandled a black man - conditioning runs deep. |

#3 "The Queen and Prince Philip are said to have passed by in a car just 30 seconds before the incident" And what does the "reporter" think he was going to do to a moving car with a knife? Scratch the paint? I have no doubt whatever he was doing was illegal, and stupid to boot, but what does a car passing by with the Queen have to do with it? |

#2 What is Britain without a tourist industry? Egypt? Tasmania? |

#1 So he was carrying it so it could be seen. There's a law against that in the UK. Even if it can't be seen, it's illegal. And that's not a jackknife, or a utility knife, or a linoleum knife. That's a fighting knife in a sheath blinged up to lood BAAAD, man. And he was carrying it so it could be seen. Which he should have known not to do. Or they had intel, which would be more than they had on a guy carrying a bomb a few days ago. |
