| The shale boom has thus far remained a uniquely American phenomenon (for a long list of reasons), but the issue of other countries replicating that success has always been a question of when, not if. | #2 Oil companies are understandably reluctant to inveest huge amounts of capital in places that buthave a history of nationalizing company assets. High prices and profit margins and production rates can overcome thar reluctance - make back the investment before nationalization - but none of those apply there, now, or to shale resources. |
