| 'Heavy Clashes' Ongoing In Baghlan’s Burka District |

| [Tolo News] A group of Talibs attacked security forces’ outposts in Burka district in Baghlan province at mid-night on Thursday, security sources confirmed on Friday. The sources said the Taliban ...Arabic for students... has arrived close to the district governor’s office and heavy festivities are ongoing between government forces and the bad boys. Sources have said that the Taliban fighters have entered the Baghlan district through Takhar and Kunduz provinces. Reinforcements have arrived at the area to help government forces in the district. The sources said that at least 30 Talibs were killed in the battle. According to the sources, up to 20 Afghan soldiers were killed or maimed in the festivities. On Thursday, security officials in Baghlan said Talibs have suffered a heavy casualty toll in the province and have been pushed back by government forces in the past two weeks following the launch of their summer offensive. The officials said the Taliban’s offensive in Baghlan has so far failed and the province has become a "grave" for the fighters of the group. |
