| #17 FWIW, back in the late 60's/early 70's, some US blacks decided to go back to their "ancestral homeland," expecting to be welcomed by their "fellow blacks." Surprise--the locals thought of them as (rich) Americans; they certainly weren't of any of the local tribes. I can easily imagine South Africans who actually remember apartheid reacting to Rachel. |

| #16 Can't she just go get a regular job and be part of normal society? The problem is that she is a career academic teaching black history at the university level. Back in the old days she could have done that as a white woman, but times have changed. |
