Led by the Qalamoun Shield of the 3rd Armored Division, the Syrian Arab Army advanced along the eastern slopes, liberating several hilltops after swiftly sweeping through the Islamic State's defenses on Saturday. According to an al-Masdar field correspondent in Damascus, the Syrian Arab Army liberated a number hilltops in the Qalamoun Mountains, including Tal al-Dab` al-Sharqi after a fierce battle with the Islamic State. The al-Masdar correspondent added that dozens of Islamic State bad boyz were potted during the assault; this forces them to retreat to the al-Barada area of the Homs countryside.
