#5 Al I could find out (Reddit comment) was that the island was placed to optimize navigation as opposed to plane handling (US). Perhaps it also eases access to the reactors? They have to be refueled every six or seven years (seriously). |

#3 Control Tower of the CdG seems really far forward. I'm guess with the deck space, it is the only place it could go with the takeoff/landing areas. Any Navy buffs have a short explanation? |
