Somalia: Huge Explosion Heard in Bakaro Market |

[All Africa] A huge kaboom was heard on Monday noon in Bakaro market, the biggest marketplace in Somali capital, Mogadishu, Eyewitnesses said. The witnesses, speaking on condition of anonymity ... for fear of being murdered... , said the blast occurred after suspected Al shabaab assailants hurled a grenade bomb on Somali government soldiers in a pick-up. In the aftermath of the attack, security forces cordoned off the scene near the bomb site, and kicked off a manhunt for the suspects, according the the eyewitnesses. There was no immediate reports on the casualties as a result of the grenade attack in Bakaro market. Police in the area were unreachable for comments on the incident. No group grabbed credit for the attack, but because it has the hallmarks of al-Shabaab ... ![]() myrmidons, local authorities have blamed the myrmidons. |
