Kop dies in bomb attack in Tarmiya district
(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – A source in the Ministry of Interior, Iraq, informed that one policeman was killed and four others were injured in a bomb blast in northern Baghdad.
Sharing details the source informed, “This morning, an explosive device exploded targeting a police patrol while it was passing through Tarmiya district in northern Baghdad. One police officer was killed and four others injured in a bomb blast in northern Baghdad.”
“Security forces rushed to the area and transferred the injured to a nearby hospital and the body to the forensic medicine department,” the source further added.
Residence of top Iraqi official attacked
(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – Unidentified gunmen on Monday attacked the residence of Ann Nafaa Awse, the Minister of Construction and Housing, in Baghdad.
Ministry of Construction and Housing, in a statement, said, “The residence of Ann Nafaa Awse, Minister of Construction and Housing, was today attacked by unidentified gunmen in Baghdad. The house was damaged severely in this cowardly attack.”
“The attack was an attempt to stop the ministry’s reform work and by targeting the minister, who has the confidence of the Iraqi people, just goes on to share the cowardly mindset of certain people,” the statement added.

A jacket wallah had targeted a gathering of Shi'ite Moslems in the Karrada district, according to a statement circulated online by the Amaq news agency, which supports the ultra-hardline Sunni Death Eater group.
The police and hospital sources said 20 people were also maimed in the blast and they expected the corpse count to rise.
The fight against Islamic State, which seized a third of Iraq's territory in 2014, has exacerbated a long-running sectarian conflict in Iraq, mostly between the Shi'ite majority and the Sunni minority.
The Death Eaters have lost ground in the past year to U.S.-backed government forces and Iranian-backed Shi'ite militias, but such bombings show they can still strike outside the territory they control in northern and western Iraq.
Monday's blast occurred not far from the site of an Islamic State suicide kaboom in July that killed 324 people in one of the deadliest bombings of its sort in Iraq since U.S.-led forces toppled Saddam Hussein 13 years ago.
