New Emails Show Clinton Foundation Donors Lobbied Huma For Diplomatic Passports
2016-09-02
[Daily Caller] New emails released by Judicial Watch in connection with its probe of the Bill, Hillary, and Chelsea Clinton Foundation indicate Clinton Foundation donors lobbied senior Hillary Clinton aide Huma Abedin for diplomatic passports.
And what was the stated requirement or justification ?
Abedin responded positively to the donor inquiries, according to the email.

The donors in question include Doug Band and Justin Cooper. The email indicates that Band reached out to Abedin in 2009, when she served as deputy chief of staff at the U.S. Department of State, and asked for her help in obtaining diplomatic passports for him, Cooper, and a third individual identified only by their initials.

"We had them years ago but they lapsed and we didn’t bother getting them," Band wrote.
Of course Foggy Bottom is not cooperating or providing additional information. With Black Passport and exemption of flight carry-on screening or inspection, just about anything could be transported in or out of the country. The normal methodology is 'Diplomatic Pouch,' but that would draw the attention of Embassy Regional Security Officer (RSO) personnel. It probably won't happen, but I'd really like to see someone thoroughly dig into this one.
Continuing the discussion started late yesterday here.

#3  It depends on the country you are traveling to. Some countries which usually request visas from regular travelers will waive visa regulations for bearers of a diplomatic passport.

This is true for Russia. Germans need a visa for Russia but with a German Diplomatic Passport you may present yourself at Russian Immigration without a visa.

The immigration officer will then decide whether you are let in or not.

This has not been my experience. The black book really gets you nothing when traveling other than the using the Diplomat line at immigration. You are still required to go through screening. Other than being able to flash the passport around to look cool, it actually makes travel more difficult as several countries require you have a diplomatic visa in the black book as opposed to traveling visa free on a blue/tourist passport.

This whole stinks for sure. They said they had them before. Dip ppts are only goof for 5 years. Wonder when the got the first ones and why??
