Iraqi forces crack ISIS first line of defense at Baiji in Salahuddin |

(IraqiNews.com) Salahuddin – On Thursday, Salahuddin Operations Command announced continuing the liberation operations of al-Sharqat and Qayyarah and the subsequent liberation of a number of villages in northern the province; apart from destroying the first line of defense of ISIS. The Media Official of Salahuddin Operations Colonel Mohamed al-Asadi said, “Troops belonging to the command managed to liberate Mohamed al-Mousa village in northern Baiji, which is considered as the first line of defense of ISIS. The operations are going on still and the security forces managed to liberate al-Sheikh Ali village towards Makhol north of Baiji.” Asadi further added, “The operations were backed by the anti-terrorism forces, Army’s 9th brigade, Federal Police’s infantry brigade and Iraqi Army Aviation.” |
