Yellowstone Norris Geyser man update. |
2016-06-09 |
"They were able to recover a few personal effects," park spokeswoman Charissa Reid told AP on Wednesday. "There were no remains left to recover." Colin Nathaniel Scott, 23, from Portland, Oregon, was with his sister, Sable Scott, when he left the boardwalk near Pork Chop Geyser, park officials said. "We extend our sympathy to the Scott family," Yellowstone Superintendent Dan Wenk said in a statement Wednesday. "This tragic event must remind all of us to follow the regulations and stay on boardwalks when visiting Yellowstone's geyser basins." |

#13 Unlike the costs associated with rescues from other extreme sports venues, 'Free Geyser' rescue efforts are significantly shorter and virtually cost free. Time will only tell if 'Free Geysering' actually catches on. |

#10 People really have become stupid, thinking that national parks are all super-safe like Disney land where you can wander wherever you want and put the wildlife in your car and such. |

#6 "This tragic event must remind all of us to follow the regulations and stay on boardwalks when visiting Yellowstone's geyser basins." Well, that's what I would have said (in a prepared statement). |

#5 "This tragic event must remind all of us to follow the regulations and stay on boardwalks when visiting Yellowstone's geyser basins." That's either gross insensitivity or grand master trolling. |
