Peshmergas recapture Christian town from Daesh in Iraq

[AA.TR] The Iraqi Kurdish peshmerga forces have recaptured a Christian-majority town in northern Iraq from the ISIS terrorist group, which had briefly taken over the town, a Kurdish officer said on Tuesday.

Peshmerga forces, backed by Christian fighters and coalition Arclight airstrikes, have regained control of the northern town of Tel Skuf, 30 kilometers north of djinn-infested Mosul
... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn...
, Kurdish officer Shirzad Zakholi told Anadolu Agency.

According to Zakholi, at least 40 ISIS bad boyz were potted in the festivities.

Zakholi said that U.S.-led coalition warplanes have carried out several raids on ISIS in the town.
Ynet summarizes the events of the day as follows:
Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
Death Eaters attacked Kurdish peshmerga forces on multiple fronts in northern Iraq on Tuesday, breaching their defenses and briefly taking over a town, military sources said.

The attacks around the northern city of djinn-infested Mosul are the largest against Kurdish forces in recent months by the Lion of Islams, who have been losing ground to an array of forces in the north and west of the country.

The head of a Christian militia said the Lions of Islam had overrun their positions at dawn around the town of Tel Asqof, 20 km (12 miles) north of Mosul, and occupied it until being beaten back with the help of air strikes from a US-led coalition.

"There were many jacket wallahs and suicide boom-mobiles," said Safa Eliyas, the head of the Nineveh Protection Forces, which are deployed alongside the peshmerga in the area.

There were also attacks on the Bashiqa front and in the Khazer area, about 40 km (25 miles) west of the Kurdish regional capital Erbil.
