had telephoned me and told me that the government is ready to bring amendments to the women protection bill," Fazulr Rehman told news hounds here on Saturday.
He said he had told the chief minister that things had gone beyond just amending the bill, which he added was "un-Islamic" and was passed in a haste.
The religious parties had opposed the bill and demanded the government should withdraw it.
The Maulana said the prime minister’s comment on the performance of the National Accountability Bureau should be taken seriously.
