Iran has increased oil exports by 400,000 barrels per day at the first month following the removal of international sanctions against Tehran, Mohsen Ghamsari, director of International Affairs of National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC), said, Mehr news agency reported Feb. 20.Iran’s crude export in February has reached 1.4 million barrels per day (mbpd), Ghamsari said, forecasting that the figure will stand at 1.5-1.56 mbpd by March. He further said that the European markets were the main destination for the Iran’s increased export.
Ghamsari added that east European countries will be new markets of Iran’s crude oil in post-sanctions period. In the near future further oil shipments will be exported to the European countries, he said.
Earlier Rokneddin Javadi, the Managing Director of National Iranian Oil Company said Iran will be sending the second oil cargo to European Union before the end of February.
In mid-February Iran loaded its first cargo of oil to Europe since international sanctions ended, as three oil tankers including one of Total, sailed from Iran's Kharg Island to Europe.
