[ALMANAR.LB] Saudi authorities are sending armored vehicle to Qatif in Eastern Province after the execution of prominent holy man Sheikh Nimr al-Nimr.Hundreds of anti-riot personnel carriers set off for the city on Saturday to quell any potential protest against the execution of Sheikh al-Nimr.
Saudi authorities announced on Saturday it had executed Sheikh Nimr along with 46 others.
Sheikh Nimr was a vocal supporter of the mass pro-democracy protests against Riyadh, which erupted in Eastern Province in 2011, where a Shia majority has long complained of marginalization.
